Calling Web Services and Consuming JSON data from web services

Web Services इंटरनेट के माध्यम से data exchange करने के लिए उपयोग किए जाते हैं। Android में Web Services को call करके JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) data को fetch और process किया जाता है।

Web Services दो प्रकार के होते हैं:

1. RESTful Web Services – ये HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE) का उपयोग करते हैं और JSON/XML format में data भेजते/प्राप्त करते हैं।
2. SOAP Web Services – ये XML-based होते हैं और अधिक complex होते हैं।

JSON एक lightweight data format है जो key-value pairs के रूप में data को store करता है। यह Android applications में data exchange के लिए सबसे अधिक उपयोग किया जाता है।

Web Services को call करने के लिए Android में कई techniques उपलब्ध हैं:

• HttpURLConnection (Inbuilt Java API)
• Volley Library (Fast network requests के लिए)
• Retrofit Library (Easier API integration और JSON parsing के लिए)

Retrofit का उपयोग करके JSON data fetch करना:

• पहले Retrofit dependency को Gradle में add करें।
• एक interface बनाएं जिसमें API endpoints को define करें।
• GET, POST आदि methods को define करके API से data retrieve करें।
• JSON data को Gson या Moshi library से parse करें।

Volley Library का उपयोग करके भी API call की जा सकती है, जो background thread पर network operations को execute करता है।

Parsing JSON Data:

JSONObject और JSONArray classes का उपयोग करके JSON data को extract किया जाता है।

JSONObject.getString("key"), JSONArray.getJSONObject(index) जैसी methods का उपयोग होता है।

• Asynchronous Network Calls – Web Services call asynchronous होने चाहिए ताकि UI thread block न हो। इसके लिए Retrofit (enqueue method), AsyncTask, या Kotlin Coroutines का उपयोग किया जाता है।
• Authentication & Headers – यदि API secure है, तो authentication headers (जैसे API key, OAuth token) को request के साथ भेजना पड़ता है।

Error Handling – API calls में errors (जैसे network failure, timeout, incorrect JSON format) को handle करने के लिए try-catch blocks, HTTP response codes, और Retrofit callbacks का उपयोग किया जाता है।
