Enforcement Directorate (ED) क्या है? – Complete Information

Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India

ED भारत सरकार के Ministry of Finance के अंतर्गत आने वाले Department of Revenue के administrative control में काम करता है।

  1. 1956: Enforcement Unit
  3. 1960: इसका administrative control Department of Economic Affairs से Department of Revenue को transfer कर दिया गया।

  1. PMLA – Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002
  2. FEMA – Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999
  3. FEOA – Fugitive Economic Offenders Act, 2018

Money Laundering

CBI यानी Central Bureau of Investigation और ED दोनों central-level agencies हैं, लेकिन दोनों का primary mandate अलग है।

Proceeds of Crime

Proceeds of Crime PMLA Simple words में इसे उस property या value से समझा जा सकता है जो किसी scheduled offence से directly या indirectly प्राप्त हुई हो, subject to the statutory definition and conditions under PMLA.

ED के official functions में applicable cases में mutual legal assistance के माध्यम से foreign countries से सहायता लेना या देना तथा proceeds of crime की attachment/confiscation और accused persons से संबंधित international cooperation शामिल है।

Department of Revenue की जानकारी के अनुसार इसके zonal offices Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Cochin, Ahmedabad, Bangalore और Hyderabad में हैं।

Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India

उदाहरण के लिए FEMA की policy aspects Department of Economic Affairs से और PMLA की policy responsibility Department of Revenue से जुड़ी है।

Common Myths

ED का statutory work money laundering, foreign exchange violations और specified economic laws से जुड़ा है।

Financial investigation के लिए specialised agencies की जरूरत होती है जो money trail, financial records, foreign exchange transactions और proceeds of crime को समझ सकें।
